Local Connection and Local Location
This may look easy for those Lotus Domino experts, but as for me it will be a good tool for future Lotus configuration, perhaps it would be best to articulate this to writing.

Apparently Dodo wants me to create an introduction pages for our project in UC English as Second Language which is of course a Lotus Notes based application. I have all my objects in Banilad (PDI) which needs some editing, so I guess it would be best to do the work directly to their server since I am done setting up the server two weeks ago. Here, I am showing you the steps on how to connect to a domino server remotely.

1. Assume that you have your Lotus Notes opened, click on Address Book ( your local contact window will launch e.g "dack's Address book ").

2. Click on Advanced Folder (objects will be displayed 1. Accounts 2. Certificates; 3. Connection ; 4. Location), click on Connection.

3. The Click New, select Server Connection.

You would see 3 tabs (basics, comments and advanced) to your basic tab you would see Connection Type, select Local Area Network. Add Server Name (e.g webserver/ucesl.

4. Next, Click Advanced Tab, key in the IP Address for Destination Server Address (e.g 125.252.84.74). Be sure to save this connection.

This time we will add Location:

5. Click on Location, and then select New and click Location.

6. On Basic Tab, type in Local Area Network for Location Type and be sure to name your location (e.g dacksucesl).

7. Then will go to Servers Tab, key in webserver/ucesl for your Home/mail server and Pass Thru Server.

8. To the Next Tab which is Mail, chose On Server for Mail File Location.

9. Mail file: mail\dacks.nsf

10. The last tab to edit would be Advanced, this is where you will locate your UserId (normally I save my ID to C:\Lotus\Data\)

11. Be sure to save this location document.

There you have it, all you have to do is switch your location everytime you want to connect to other server.
