Vintage Router!
As much as possible make a back-up of that router configuration and save it to your online briefcase. Because you will never know when will that vintage router gives in.
kick that laundry
I normally stay home on weekends to get some rest from that stressful week of work. Until last Saturday, my cellphone rang while finishing my laundry. -----Sir Dacks dili ko ka surf sa internet oooo----- what the f**k !!! . Darn I can't catch my favorite show (Power Ranger---Ninja Storm.....such childish punk....So what)! As if I had a choice, so I went to school.
It was true, they were not able to connect to the internet. Pinging the remote hosts failed, what seems to be the problem, our satellite campuses were down too?
How stupid of me (checking the router), I knew it was our 2501 cisco router, what a relief! Darn, no signal from it, the fan didn't work. WEll I guess it was time for that poor router to rest, for the record it lasted so many years.
how good it is to have an online briefcase!
Hala! what about the config? I know I had a back-up but where to locate it? Scanning my directory, to mail server, web server! where the hell? Browsing my inbox, in search for that unread e-mail....wala...... Exited to open my briefcase(yahoooooooo), at last reading that 2501 text document.
frame-relay or sole NAS
got to hurry our banilad campus were having an online exam. I had no choice but to configure our 2511 router's ietf(frame_relay) this time. Good God it worked and they were back online. Thank you back-up and to my online briefcase who saved my day!
