POP that 3 ! ! !
Am I just being lazy or simply dumb. It took me about a year to know exactly what to do. Or perhaps I'm just to busy to the extent that I can't figure out what to do first. At last, I got it right, now I know how to configure that POP3 to our lotus domino server that YCG kept asking me. Of course the credit goes to Roy (the certified lotus notes user), my kumpare who have helped me set that thing up. Why the hell it didn't crossed my head....that work around on how to do it, well in fact it only needs some adding of IPs to the setting. I guess I'm just being paranoid, because we were once blocked to this ORDB.org for our mail server was being used for relays. WE suffered a very dragging mail server for two weeks because of that. After weeks, at last we were clean. The complains from the administration freaked me out. And that made me decide to disable the use of pop3 since then.
Now YCG asking for it, hell( as if I have a choice), what can I do? Good thing she was not asking for a dealine, on when could I implement such request. Browsing, googling, hoping that I might bump into a page that would put an end of this dilemma. She even commanded to call dodo whose apparently in singapore. It was basically a torture for myself..it was even hard to contact dodo, and to think that he's in singapore, how am I suppose to coordinate with him?..., plus the fact that he's way to expensive($hell) like everything he said should be equivalent of a big sum of bucks(grrr....ah well nothing is free in this world anymore I think). My fault, I admit it, why I didn't ask him this thing in the first place?....when he configured our domino server two years ago and installed that ranking system which is very buggy until now.
"Roy", screamed into my head, why not!...I called up roy whom I thought followed dodo in singapore..... lucky me he's leaving for singpore on november....He was such a great help, roy saved me from my misery(eheheeh). Just a couple of editing of Server configuration, specifically on Inbound rElay controls, I've added the IP addresses( Allow messages only from the following external internet hosts to be sent to external internet domains.....and delete the askterisk on Deny messages from the following external internet hosts to be sent to external internet domains:-) ). Did some reboots on our server(didn't mind who was online, I really had to). And tested it with my account and email my yahooo , it worked(pewwwwhhhh). But still it requires some great understanding , atleast you've encountered the lotus environment and more importantly make sure to backup the configuration(to be 101 percent sure, have an extra copy of your names.nsf, just in case).
